"Epitome of excellence": 'Anti-club club' in Denver dubbed 'best cocktail bar' in US

The prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Foundation organization has announced their 2024 winners of the 'Spirited Awards' and a Denver spot ended up being dubbed the 'Best Cocktail Bar' in the United States.

"Recognized through the lens of the 2024 conference theme, “Inspire” – winners were chosen who embrace growth through the collective sharing of ideas and energy," says the organization about how selections were made. "The winners of this year’s Spirited Awards have made invaluable strides gathering and sharing inspiration amongst the global cocktail community."

And without further ado – the selection for the top cocktail bar in the United States was the Mile High City's Yacht Club.

Self-described as an "anti-club club where all are welcome" as well as a "nerdy cocktail bar, a natural wine bar, and your favorite dive bar all in one," Yacht Club is highly-rated online, with a 4.7-star rating on Google and a 4.2-star rating on Yelp . It was also dubbed one of the top 50 bars in North America last year by The World's 50 Best .

Patrons of the bar rave about the variety of cocktail options, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere, with one reviewer on Yelp calling the spot "the epitome of excellence." The hot dogs served up by the bar also get plenty of praise.

Located on North Williams Street in the area of the River North Art District, a trip to Yacht Club doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg either – hot dogs start at $4 and a High Life beer is $3.5. Cocktails do end up in the $14-plus range, but that's on par with prices found around much of Denver.
