DENVER — Ed Greene has decided to retire from Denver media, for good.

On Friday, July 25, Greene announced his retirement during his final appearance on 9NEWS Mornings.

"It's time to retire for me," Greene said on the 9NEWS Mornings broadcast Friday. "You know, 47 years doing the weather, nobody has done sports or news or weather longer than that. So, I feel like I've accomplished something. Pretty proud of that."

Greene has been a part of 9NEWS Mornings since 2021 where he kept the community informed about important weather events while delighting viewers with his unique sense of humor.

Greene's 47-year career in Denver television and radio included stints at KUSA, KMGH, KCNC and KOA Radio.

Greene's first appearance on 9NEWS was during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta.

He then moved to KCNC in 2001 before retiring, for the first time, in 2017 after 42 years in Denver television. At the time that was the longest tenure of any on-air broadcast personality in Denver television broadcast history.

During his 9NEWS goodbye Friday, Greene passed his weather clicker to Chris Bianchi who will be the new 9NEWS Impact Weather Team meteorologist for 9NEWS Mornings.
