There's another Californian moving to Colorado.

Russell Westbrook and the Nuggets agreed to a two-year contract worth $6.8 million, according to a report from The Athletic. The second season is a player option. The Denver Gazette confirmed the contract details Friday afternoon

, and the team announced the signing in the evening, complete with a video from the newest Nugget.

"Nuggets nation, what's the deal?" a smiling Westbrook said from Denver's practice court at Ball Arena. "(I'm) happy to be here, excited. It's going to be fun. Can't wait to see you guys out there, let's do it."

In graphics released by the team, Westbrook is wearing the No. 4 jersey, which was worn by Hunter Tyson last season. Westbrook has worn the No. 0 jersey in all of his previous stops, except Washington where he wore 4. The 0 jersey has belonged to Christian Braun the last few seasons.

Westbrook recently cleared waivers after the Clippers traded him to Utah. The Jazz formally released Westbrook over the weekend, clearing the way for the veteran point guard to choose his next team.

Westbrook, 35, just concluded his 16th NBA season, playing 68 games for the Clippers last season. The NBA's all-time leader in triple-doubles averaged 11.1 points, 5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

The addition gives the Nuggets more experience in the backcourt, as Jamal Murray and Jalen Pickett were the only point guards previously on standard contracts for next season.

Born in Long Beach, Westbrook played two seasons at UCLA before starting his professional career. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2008 draft and spent his first 11 seasons playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he won the 2017 Most Valuable Player award. He's also been selected to nine All-Star teams and earned nine All-NBA honors over his career, which included stops in Houston, Washington and both of his home-town teams, the Lakers and Clippers, before his move to Denver.

Nuggets forward Peyton Watson, another former Bruin, posted a welcome message to his fellow Californian on Instagram.

"Welcome! Let's work," Watson captioned a photo of the two.
