A Cherry Creek development is expanding
In Denver’s hot Cherry Creek neighborhood, the developers behind Clayton Lane are looking to start another phase of their project now known as Cherry Lane.
Denver-based real estate company BMC Investments and L.A.-based Prism Places announced Monday it partnered with Invesco Real Estate to redevelop properties across the street from its Phase I project.
The second phase will extend from Clayton Lane to Detroit Street, between First and Second avenues.
“Phase I of Cherry Lane has already generated tremendous interest, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand this exciting redevelopment plan to Phase II,” said Matt Joblon, cofounder and CEO of BMC Investments, in the news release.
The developers plan to demolish the retail building behind Hotel Clio on the corner of Detroit Street and Second Avenue. It’s set to be redeveloped into the Cherry Lane Tower — a luxury 80-unit apartment building with 5,348 square feet of retail.
“This next phase brings additional apartments to Cherry Creek North, which are undersupplied given all of the business growth occurring in this submarket,” Joblon said.
The project also included redeveloping more than 45,000 square feet of retail on East Clayton Lane into smaller floor plans popular with boutiques and restaurants. The redeveloped space is set to match Phase I’s redevelopment across the street.
Construction isn’t expected to start until 2027, after Phase I is finished, the announcement said. It’s expected to be completed by late 2028.

One of Parker’s hotels has a brand new name.
Ascent on Main, a boutique hotel, will now go by the Parker Hotel.
Hotel management company Springboard Hospitality announced it rebranded the hotel located in the heart of the Denver suburb to have more local inspiration and western personality.
The rebrand is influenced by the region’s history and includes references to art deco, the Western expansions and how technology has evolved, the company said.
“With the evident rise in popularity of roadside lodges, historical hotel experiences, and an overall interest in charming small towns as alternatives to traditional vacation destinations, the reimagined Parker Hotel will continue to provide the best-in-class, boutique hotel experience,” said Stephen Chan, co-founder of Eagle Point Hotel Partners and owner of The Parker Hotel, said in a statement.
The hotel closed its rooftop sports bar Upper Deck, the only rooftop bar in downtown Parker, to transform it into a private venue for weddings and other group events.
The hotel’s dinner restaurant, The Douglas Kitchen and Cocktails, is still open but will soon undergo renovation and a “concept refresh” later this year, the announcement said.
