Waterbean Coffee Continues Explosive Expansion With Denver, NC Brewing Next

Waterbean Coffee continues its expansion with a new location set to open soon, at 145 Cross Center Road in Denver, NC.

This upcoming cafe is part of a broader expansion plan teased earlier this month on the company’s website, where several new locations were announced as “coming soon.”

In a recent update, Waterbean Coffee shared: “Now that our Morganton location is open, we want to thank everyone who showed up yesterday and continues to welcome us into your wonderful town! We strive to deliver first-class products and services for years to come. We are also excited to announce some upcoming projects! Next up is Denver, NC, followed by locations in Davidson, NC; NoDA; Hickory #3; and yes, we’re still working on getting Gastonia going. Stay tuned for announcements about a few more locations soon!”

Tony Vo , co-owner of Waterbean Coffee, was not immediately available for comment on Sunday.

Waterbean Coffee was established in Cornelius, NC, in the winter of 2013 by founder Tony Vo and his wife Annie. The inspiration for the business came from a simple conversation about how a perfect cup of coffee requires just the right mixture of water and coffee beans. Since then, Waterbean Coffee has grown significantly, becoming the first specialty coffee shop in the Lake Norman area to offer pour-over, French Press, Aeropress, and over five different espresso single origin or blends.

Each Waterbean Coffee location is uniquely designed, setting high standards from the start. The second location in Huntersville, which opened only a few months after the first, remains the largest at around 4,000 square feet. Waterbean Coffee has rapidly expanded to become the fastest- and largest-growing local coffee shop, boasting an international location in Da Nang, Vietnam. Currently, the company operates 16 locations, a roastery, and a distribution center.

Waterbean Coffee distinguishes itself by offering a space for relaxation, meetings, and socializing, aiming to be more than just another coffee shop. This unique approach, inspired by Tony Vo’s international background, is evident in both the menu and store designs. One of Tony’s favorite quotes, which embodies the company’s philosophy, is from Henry Ford: “Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.”
