A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for portions of eastern Colorado until 9 p.m. Monday.

Although the city of Denver is not included in the Severe Thunderstorm Watch, it does include most of the rest of eastern Colorado.

Scattered thunderstorms and showers are likely through early evening, and we could see a few of these storms turn severe. The biggest threats will be large hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning and pockets of heavy rain. Areas east of the i25 corridor will see the greatest risk for severe weather through tonight.

It's still going to feel like summer this week for all the Denver Public Schools kids that are back in school. Highs Monday climbed to the upper 80s and low 90s across the metro-area.

Skies clear tonight and lows fall to the 60s by morning.

It will be hotter and drier on Tuesday, with highs in the low- to mid-90s.

If you're looking to cool off, the mountains are a great place to be. Highs will stay comfortable, in the upper-70s to mid-80s, with scattered storms and showers popping up over higher terrain in the late-afternoons through the week.
