Lengthy stretch of US 36 closed in Westminster due to 'police activity'

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — All lanes of US 36 in Westminster along a 2.5-mile stretch are currently closed as Westminster police say they investigate an "ongoing incident."

US 36 closed just before 2 p.m. between Lowell Boulevard and Federal Boulevard (US 287) due to what the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) called "police activity."

The Westminster Police Department announced the same closure a few minutes later, initially citing an "ongoing incident." Drivers will need to find an alternate route around this section of US 36.
