LSU Captures Eight Individual Honors on the LSWA All-Louisiana Track & Field Team
BATON ROUGE – Seven LSU athletes earned top honors in the 2024 Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s All-Louisiana Track and Field team announced this weekend. A panel of track media/communications members nominated and selected the award winners for both men and women. A list was also compiled with the aide of the Track & Field Results Reporting System of the athletes that are honored All-Louisiana best times.

Police investigate shooting after victim admitted to hospital
ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 10:50 pm the Alexandria Police Department responded to a local hospital in reference to a person that had been shot. The shooting took place in the area of Levin Street and Essie Street. The shooting victim sustained moderate injuries.

NSU will introduce Genovese Tuesday
Northwestern State University will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 ,to introduce James. T. Genovese as the university’s 21st president. The event will be in the Sylvan Friedman Student Union Ballroom. All in the community are invited. Genovese, who has served as an associate justice on the Louisiana Supreme Court, was named the university’s president July 18 and will assume office in August. Tuesday’s program will include recognition of local and regional elected officials, figures from Genovese’s personal life, special presentations to the newly elected president and comments from Genovese.
