Southeast Iowa Area Law Enforcement Agencies Participate in ‘Operation Time’s Up’
BURLINGTON — Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Mt. Pleasant Police Department worked with other agencies to keep southeastern Iowa communities safe through a five-week long fugitive operation in Des Moines, Henry, and Lee counties, and surrounding communities resulting in the arrests of 45 individuals wanted on outstanding local, state, and/or federal arrest warrants.

16 Year Old Girl Taken to U of I Hospital and Clinics Following Collision
There was a head on vehicle collision in Des Moines County which involved a vehicle with two teenagers inside. 47-year-old Nicholas McGrane of Burlington, operating a SUV, was traveling westbound on Mason Road when attempting to traverse a curve. The second vehicle, a sedan driven by a 16-year-old girl, with an 18-year-old passenger, both from Middletown, were driving the same curve. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the first vehicle crossed the center line and struck the vehicle with teenagers nearly head on. Both vehicles came to rest south of the roadway and west of the point of the impact. The incident remains under investigation.
U.S. Marshals run sweep in southeast Iowa
BURLINGTON - From Apr. 29 – May 31, members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force - including the USMS, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, Fort Madison Police Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Corrections High Risk Unit, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations – joined forces with law enforcement officers from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, and the West Burlington Police Department to conduct a five-week long fugitive operation in Des Moines, Henry, and Lee counties and surrounding communities.
