    Lauren Hagedorn, Kain Killmer voted the Register's Iowa Ortho Athletes of the Week

    Adel-Desoto-Minburn softball player Lauren Hagedorn and Perry baseball player Kain Killmer were voted the Des Moines Register's Iowa Ortho female and male Athlete of the Week award winners for the week of July 8-14.

    Hagedorn won a close contest with North Polk softball player Ava Husak for female Athlete of the Week. Hagedorn received 51% of the vote and Husak came in with 45%.

    Hagedorn powered the 4A No. 5 ADM softball team past Indianola by a 9-2 score in the 4A Region 4 semifinals last Saturday at Indianola.

    Hagedorn went 3-for-4 with two home runs in the victory. She drove in three runs and scored twice for the Tigers.

    Killmer ran away with the male Athlete of the Week voting. Killmer received 78% of the vote, and Iowa City Liberty baseball player Mason Waterbury took second with 9%.

    Killmer had a productive night at the plate for the Perry baseball team during an 8-7 victory over Carroll to close out the regular season on July 9 at Perry.

    Killmer went 4-for-4 with three doubles. He finished the game with three RBIs.
