Heat Advisory for Southwest Iowa: Excessive Heat Watch for Harrison and Shelby Counties

(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for southwest Iowa from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, Heat Index Values of 105 degrees are forecast for this afternoon.

A Heat Watch is in effect for Harrison and Shelby Counties from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. Dangerously hot conditions are forecast, with heat index values climbing to 112 degrees.

The forecast high temperature for today is 91 degrees, 96 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, 88 degrees on Thursday, and back up to 90 degrees on Friday.
