Motorcycle crashes in north Bloomfield
A motorcycle crash in north Bloomfield restricted U.S. Highway 550 between Aztec and Bloomfield to two lanes for two hours. Bloomfield police was called to the crash just before 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcycle was traveling near the intersection of North First Street and Florida Avenue when the crash occurred.
Former Dora Schools Employee Sentenced
The former head of maintenance for Dora Consolidated Schools was found guilty of six counts involving unfair bidding practices in April after reportedly using his position to gain favorable bids for his own company with the school district. In a follow up to the story we covered, the Ninth Judicial District Attorney announced that Steven Butler, age 56, of Dora, NM, was sentenced to 3 years in the Department of Corrections for 6 counts involving unfair biding practices with the Dora Schools. The sentence includes 3 years in prison followed by 5 years of supervised probation. Butler was taken into custody with an appeal bond set at $10,000.00.
