Inland Empire Temperatures Continue to Surge
Excessive heat warnings are in effect Thursday until Friday in the Coachella Valley with temperatures expected to reach 116 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The excessive heat warning will be in effect in Palm Desert, Coachella, Cathedral City, Palm Springs, Borrego Springs, Indio and La Quinta until 10 p.m. Friday. Highs are forecast to be as high as 116 Thursday.

U.S. Border Patrol Agents Seize 92 Pounds of Cocaine in Indio
U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two United States citizens attempting to smuggle 92 pounds of cocaine. Last Monday, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a white SUV approached the U.S. Border Patrol Highway 86 immigration checkpoint. During the primary inspection, a Border Patrol K-9 detection team alerted to the presence of concealed people or drugs.
