TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 40-year-old man named Joseph Leedy allegedly drove his car into the lobby of the Martin County Jail on Monday night, according to a report from WPTV. Following the crash, Leedy went on a rant about former president Donald Trump and proclaimed, “The devil told me to kill everyone.”

Leedy then threatened to set himself on fire after pouring motor oil on the vehicle. He also reportedly threw rubber snakes and cell phones into the empty lobby.

While authorities attempted to de-escalate the situation, Leedy continued to repeat his violent threats and expressed strong disapproval of Trump. He was dressed in a ladies' top and otherwise unclothed.

Despite being administered multiple doses of ketamine, Leedy remained uncontrollable, leading deputies to suspect he was under the influence of drugs. Blood test results are pending.

Chief Deputy John Budensiek noted, “The medication that a normal person would be sedated by was not affecting him at all. This suggests he may have built up a tolerance to various drugs.”

Leedy, who had been living in the vehicle, had received multiple trespass warnings in the past but had no prior arrests. He now faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
