In Bangor, Maine, Adam Johnson, a 32-year-old from Plymouth, was sentenced to 180 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for his role in a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy. Chief U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker delivered the sentence in U.S. District Court.

Johnson was found guilty by a federal jury in January 2024 after a two-day trial. Evidence presented at the trial showed that from June 2017 to February 2018, Johnson traveled out of state to obtain heroin and fentanyl, which he brought back to Maine to package and sell. The conspiracy involved over 400 grams of fentanyl, a highly potent substance where just 2 milligrams can be lethal.
