After a man shot randomly into a crowd of people in Times Square, Officer Alyssa Vogel rushed to the ambulance with injured four-year-old Skye Martinez, accompanied by the girl's mother.

On Saturday afternoon, the sound of gunshots pierced one of the world's most popular tourism destinations: Times Square. A man opened fire on bystanders returning from the COVID-19 outbreak, wounding two women and a Hispanic girl who were waiting to enter a toy shop.

Startling footage captures the police officer running courageously with Skye Martinez, the Hispanic girl who was injured during the attack, in her embrace.

Skye was one of three people wounded during the attack, which was allegedly caused by a disagreement between a man who traded illicit goods and other subjects, according to the initial versions.

Farrakhan Muhammad was named as the man who shot and killed others along public roads by the police. He is a criminal who is alleged to have been trying to murder his own brother.

The little girl's aunt revealed that she is very brave and defied the moments of tension that threatened her wellbeing with unusual bravery.

She didn’t feel anything. Even when we noticed when we were at the corner, she wasn’t crying,” Danae Romero, a 16-year-old witness to the shooting, told the New York Post.

Officer Alyssa Vogel consoled Skye Martinez's birth mother on Sunday, the day after the woman saw her baby taking a bullet to the leg during a visit to the tourist hotspot. The quick-thinking cop, who is also a mother of a 6-month-old child, recalled attempting to comfort Skye's mother.

“I kept telling her to breathe, that I know what she’s going through because I have a baby myself,” said Vogel. “It was very difficult for her, very traumatic. She saw her daughter just get shot.” Ms. Vogel entered the NYPD four and a half years ago after leaving her teaching job. She said that she joined the police force to support citizens.

We may assume that the police officers' courageous actions can serve as a model for everyone else to seek to emulate.

The shooting suspect escaped and was found in Florida.

Sources from the New York City Police Department reported that Farrakhan Muhammad was arrested this Wednesday morning in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Uniformed indicated that the suspect was arrested when he was driving a car that ran out of gas. He was expected to be extradited to New York in the next few hours, to face various criminal charges, including possession of a firearm and attempted murder.

The NYPD reported that Muhammad has a criminal record, including one for assault after beating a man last year who intervened because he was molesting a couple on the street.
