    Unresponsive child pulled from water in Destin

    OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Saturday, a child was rescued from the water at Norriego Point Public Beach Access in Destin.

    According to the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office, after the child was located face down a family member and bystander performed CPR until the Coast Guard arrived and took over.

    Officials said the child and parents were taken to the Coast Guard station to wait for a medical transporter helicopter.

    EMS and Coast Guard personnel were able to get the child responsive and breathing before being taken to the hospital.
