The Australian Classification Board has added listings for two titles based on the Transformers franchise, with both listing Microsoft Studios as the production company. Furthermore, both games have been given a rating of PG (Parental Guidance) by the board, with one containing “online interactivity” and “scary scenes” and the other having “mild violence”, “online interactivity”, and “users interact”. The production date for both titles is 2024.

Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person roguelike video game initially developed by Hopoo Games. In November 2022, the title was purchased by the game development and publishing studio Gearbox. This company owns the rights to many popular franchise games such as Borderlands, Half-Life, Brothers in Arms, and much more. On Tuesday, August 27, Gearbox published their first Risk of Rain 2 DLC (downloadable content) titled ‘Seekers of the Storm’. This is the first DLC Gearbox developed independently from Hopoo Games. This expansion served as a test for the studio’s first official release, and Gearbox failed. Horribly.

Risk of Rain 2 Developers Respond To Backlash

It sounds like Hopoo Games, the developer of cult hit and roguelike platformer Risk of Rain, is going on a hiatus. In an announcement on X/Twitter, the company has announced that its co-founders Paul Morse and Duncan Drummond, "alongside many other talented members at Hopoo Games," will now be working for Valve. The company is stopping the production of an unannounced game called Snail as a result, and it's not quite clear if it will ever pick up from where it left off in the future. Hopoo also didn't say how many of its staff members are joining Valve and how many chose to leave or had been left out of the deal. "...[F]or now — sleep tight, Hopoo Games," one of the company's tweets reads.
