    Third Judicial Circuit needs attorneys for Assigned Counsel Services team

    The Third Judicial Circuit has an urgent need for Michigan-licensed attorneys to join its Assigned Counsel Services Department list to represent juvenile clients.

    Attorneys will provide appellate representation and emergency house counsel to these clients. Interested applicantsmust meet the following requirements to qualify for assignments:



    • Complete an attorney profile/application


    • Be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan


    • Have a valid email address


    • Provide certification or proof of completion of a minimum oftwo training sessions related to the practice in the Juvenile Division


    • Approval by the Attorney Review Committee


    • Appeals: Attorneys seeking appellate assignments also must submit a sample brief for review by the Attorney Review Committee.


    • Designated Cases: attorneys seeking assignments to designated cases also must provide proof of current Detroit-Wayne County Criminal Advocacy Program certification.
