Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson shocked the world once again when he bowed out of the head coaching search after being the NFL's hottest head coaching candidate of the offseason. He chose to stay with the Lions to finish some business. Now that he's staying, it's time to turn the creativity up a few more notches and do some more fun stuff.

The Lions have been a team that likes to utilize every player they can out there. That's why we've seen Penei Sewell, Dan Skipper and Taylor Decker on the field making plays occasionally. Well, we've got another play to put into the playbook that could use one of those guys. Let's head to Ogden, Utah to take look at what Webber State did on this play.

You might recognize this play from the silver screen. This is actually the play that Lance Harbor drew up for Billy Bob to win the final game of the year in Varsity Blues. The Lions should look to run this with Penei Sewell, Dan Skipper or Taylor Decker. Personally, I think this has Sewell written all over it.

Johnson has drawn up the old hook and ladder play for the Lions before. Back in 2022 against the Packers the Lions did it with Amon-Ra St. Brown and D'Andre Swift. They did it at the craziest time of the game too. It's probably the play that won the game if we're being honest.

As Erik points out, Sewell blocked like crazy here. How about Sewell gets in the end zone on the next one?
