Where Detroit Lions landed in Pro Football Focus' offensive line rankings

The Detroit Lions had arguably the best offensive line in the NFL last season, and that should once again be the case in 2024, with the team returning four of its five starters from last season.

The only starter not returning is guard Jonah Jackson, who left for the Los Angeles Rams in free agency. But the Lions more than adequately replaced him with guard Kevin Zeitler, who could prove to be an upgrade after a Pro Bowl season.

In a recent article by Pro Football Focus' Zoltan Buday , he has the Lions' offensive line as the No. 1 unit in the NFL going into the 2024 campaign.

Here's what he wrote on Detroit's group:

When healthy, the Lions' offensive line was arguably the best unit in the NFL last season. Right tackle Penei Sewell was the league's highest-graded offensive lineman, and Frank Ragnow earned the top spot among centers.

Although the unit lost right guard Jonah Jackson in free agency, the Rams signed veteran guard Kevin Zeitler, who ranked 15th in PFF grade among guards in 2023.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been the stiffest competition for the Lions in the debate regarding the best offensive lines in the sport. However, with Jason Kelce having retired, it's safe to say the Lions have jumped them, if they didn't before that.

The biggest concern for the Lions upfront is their depth, which has no shortage of young and unproven players. However, there is no team in the NFL that has a stronger starting group than Detroit.
