When the Detroit Lions won the NFC North title for the first time in over 30 years, it was a big deal. On Wednesday they'll do another thing that we haven't seen them in do in over 30 years, show up on the silver screen. Well, sort of. The infamous Axel Foley Lions jacket is back. Well, sort of.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F releases on Netflix on Wednesday and we'll get to see Eddie Murphy back in a Lions jacket again, even if it is an updated version. We have a theory that this won't be the only involvement from the Lions in this movie. The theory is that a Lions player shows up in the movie for a cameo and that player is Jared Goff. Here's why we think that:

We're used to each Beverly Hills Cop movie starting off in Detroit and then having a reason to go to Beverly Hills. The most recent trailer for the movie makes it seem like there will be some extensive things happening in Detroit.

On top of that, we know that the movie actually filmed in Detroit. It's not like Robocop that filmed in Texas. As to the exact locations where the movie shot, they're all relatively close to Ford Field. Maybe Foley runs into Goff downtown.

The film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer is from Detroit and is a big Lions fan. That is why the Lions have been an aspect of two of the movies. The whole idea behind the jacket came from Bruckheimer.

Speaking of the jacket, the movie put out a promo featuring Goff in the jacket talking about going from Los Angeles to Detroit.

That actually brings me to the next point. Goff still keeps a home in the Los Angeles area and we obviously know that the movie is going to largely take place in that area. Murphy did not travel to Detroit for shooting, but the movie is obviously still putting Foley in Detroit through movie magic and what not. Maybe it puts Goff there too.

There's just a lot pointing to the idea that Goff could make an appearance in the movie at some point.

Now I'm not saying that Goff is gonna have a gun and help Foley solve a crime. I'm saying they bump into each other and Foley makes a wise crack about the Lions being good now or something like that. A real quick few minute scene.

By the way, if it happens, this won't be Goff's first time acting. He was on Ballers in 2018. Let's see if he picks up another IMDB credit this week.
