    1. Salute to America at The Henry Ford

    An exuberant collection of songs, food and fanfare connects families, friends and neighbors at Salute to America at The Henry Ford! Enjoy your favorite summer treats as you stroll and listen to performance groups across the beautiful Greenfield Village, each showcasing a diverse assembly of music from American history, including choral singing, ragtime, jazz and more. Then grab a blanket, get comfortable and take a seat on the Village Green for a three-part grand finale, including a full Detroit Symphony Orchestra performance, followed by cannon fire and a brilliant fireworks finale.

    2. Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair

    A longstanding tradition continues this weekend with the return of the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair! Enjoy quality artwork, a tree-lined park setting, daily entertainment and delicious food, which have been making this fair a staple in the local arts community for over 50 years. Featured artists include regional and nationally known individuals specializing in all mediums of fine art. Juried in under many categories, artists specialize in Ceramics; Collage; Drawing; Jewelry; Wood; Fiber; Metals; Painting – including Acrylics, Oil, Watercolor; Pastels; Photography; Sculpture and more.

    Saturday, July 6 - Sunday, July 7 at Memorial Park in Royal Oak

    3. Light Up Livernois

    Get ready for a different kind of light show this weekend with the return of Light Up Livernois! The annual event from Detroit's Independent Business Association is held along Livernois Avenue between 6 Mile and 8 Mile Roads, and will feature open studios, a runway fashion show, and awe-inspiring art installations. Check out some of Detroit’s best artists and enjoy a variety of eateries, music, and independent businesses along Livernois during this great outdoor festival.

    Saturday, July 6 from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Livernois between 6 Mile and 8 Mile in Detroit

    4. Royal Oak Taco Festival

    What better way to kick off the summer than with Tacos, Cerveza, and Tequila at the Royal Oak Taco Festival! Head to Downtown Royal Oak this holiday weekend for a street festival with delicious foods from over 50 taquerias and eateries, plus ice-cold margaritas, four stages of live entertainment, a taco eating contest, Lucha Libre wrestling, a kidzone and more! The event will also feature some of Metro Detroit’s most impressive musical talent, with a wide range of artists that will please any crowd.

    Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7 in Downtown Royal Oak

    5. Clawson Fourth of July Festival

    Ring in Independence Day with a huge celebration in Clawson! The city’s Fourth of July Festival takes place on Wednesday and Thursday with two full evenings of free music from some of Metro Detroit’s best local artists. Along with the music, there will also be an Arts & Crafts show held at Clawson City Park, as well as a Free Fun Race and 5K Freedom Run, plus a huge carnival with rides, games, concessions and more. It all culminates with a spectacular fireworks show on Thursday night at 10 p.m., and is a perfect way to celebrate your Fourth of July!

    Wednesday, July 3 - Thursday, July 4 at Clawson City Park in Downtown Clawson
