Like the rest of the football world, multiple Detroit Lions players are mourning the tragic death of their former Alabama teammate and Minnesota Vikings fourth-round selection and cornerback, Khyree Jackson.

According to Maryland State Police , Jackson was killed overnight in a car crash that involved three vehicles. Jackson was in the front passenger seat when the car he was riding in was struck by another, leading to the three-car accident.

Jackson and two others who were in the car with him at the time of the crash passed away. The occupants of the other two cars were not injured.

The driver believed to be responsible for the accident was allegedly going at a high rate of speed and alcohol "may have been a contributing circumstance" in the crash, authorities said.

After the tragic news broke, cornerback Terrion Arnold and safety Brian Branch took to social media to mourn the passing of their former Alabama teammate.

"The journey it took for you to get to where you was at and you really accomplished your goals of making it to the NFL, you really looked out for me," Arnold wrote . "A true brother and all you wanted to do was see me succeed and vice versa always love slim."

"I ain’t shed a tear in a min this one hurt," Branch said.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jackson's friends and family at this unimaginably difficult time.
