DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department is asking for tips from the public to help solve a murder on the city's west side.

The DPD on Wednesday released a photo of a suspect who remains at large nearly a month after shooting and killing a 30-year-old man, according to investigators.

At around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, police said the suspect was in the area of Central St. and McGraw Ave. in a gray or silver Chevy Camaro.

The suspect got out of car on the passenger's side, approached the victim, and shot him, police said.

The suspect then got back into the car and fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to a local hospital where he died, police said. His name was not released.

On Wednesday, police released a surveillance image showing the suspect wearing dark clothing, armed with a long gun, alongside the suspect vehicle.

The DPD did not share any information about a possible motive for the shooting, as the investigation continues.

Anyone recognizes the suspect or the Camaro, or has any information about this crime, is asked to call the Detroit’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up (800-773-2587).

DetroitRewards.TV is offering a $1,000 reward for the tip that moves this case forward. The case number is 2406150352 and must be included when leaving the tip.
