Biden Roasts Trump’s Business Acumen: ‘He Even Went Bankrupt Running a Casino – I Didn’t Think That Was Possible’

President Joe Biden challenged the business acumen of former President Donald Trump during a Friday night rally in Detroit, questioning how Trump’s former casino in Atlantic City could go under.

Biden did not name the casino but during a defiant speech in which he also said he would not be leaving the 2024 presidential race, he attacked Trump’s business chops and invoked his numerous bankruptcy filings.

“Look, if you want to know how bad a businessman Trump really is, just think about this,” Biden said. “He inherited millions of dollars only to squander it. He’s filed for bankruptcy six times.”

In an apparent reference to the now-closed Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort, Biden told a wild crowd, “He even went bankrupt running a casino – I didn’t think that was even possible. Doesn’t the house always win in a casino?”

The president concluded, “Most importantly, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, Trump is a threat to this nation.”

Biden spoke in Detroit in front of a crowd of union workers and other voters but was without Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and a number of the state’s congressional Democrats.

Whitmer was reportedly traveling on Friday and was not able to attend.

Biden also called Trump a “loser” during his remarks and invoked the civil suit writer E. Jean Carroll filed and won against the former president.

    The president said:

“Donald Trump was found liable for sexual assault by a judge, who told us not to be fooled by Trump brushing it off. Here’s what the judge wrote. Quote, the judge in that case wrote, quote, ‘Mr. Trump attempted to minimize sexual abuse, finding it frivolous. Mr. Trump raped her.’ That’s the judge’s language, not mine. Raped her, as many people understand the word rape.”

As for Trump’s once-celebrated Atlantic City casino, the Taj Mahal opened with much fanfare in 1990.

The casino closed its doors on October 2016 just two weeks before the presidential election.

According to ABC News, Trump sold his stake in the business to investor and personal friend Carl Icahn in 2014.
