Like many gamers and football fans around the globe, Detroit Lions cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. is hyped to play EA Sports' College Football 25 .

Rakestraw was one of many to get their hands on the highly-anticipated video game on Monday, July 15, as it went into early access for those who purchased particular bundles.

Rakestraw tweeted out a picture of himself about to play the game and in the photo he's wearing his Missouri helmet from his college days. Talk about being ready, or "too ready," as the Lions rookie cornerback put it.

Check out the tweet and the picture below.

Rakestraw spent four years with Missouri, where he tallied one interception, 24 passes defensed, one sack and eight tackles for loss over 36 games.

He is now preparing for his first season in the NFL and hopes to grab a starting role in Year 1. But Rakestraw will have to earn his spot in training camp, where he'll be seeing his first full-go action of the offseason after being limited during the spring.

As far as where he ends up playing, that remains to be seen. But his best bet for a starting role might be in the slot, where the Lions could see a new face if the team decides to play last year's slot cornerback, Brian Branch, at safety, something the team is considering.

Rakestraw will have competition for the role, though, as veteran cornerback and free-agent acquisition Amik Robertson appears set to also vie for the job after he was the primary option there during the offseason program.
