The conservancy claims Smith's wife, sister, mother and best friend — who served as the best man in his wedding — all benefited from the stolen funds. The lawsuit also details how Smith was able to pull the alleged embezzlement off, accusing him of keeping two sets of books and transferring nearly $20 million between different accounts over the course of approximately seven years.
