The Detroit Lions had a little skirmish during training camp practice on Saturday between offensive lineman Dan Skipper and linebacker Derrick Barnes. The two cleared things up after practice, so it didn't go beyond that.

But after the tussle went down , The Athletic's Colton Pouncy exaggerated a bit , saying Skipper has been involved in "12 camp fight in four days," something the Detroit offensive lineman didn't take kindly to.

In a reply to the tweet, Skipper called the reporter out for "fake news" and denied that he has been in that many fights since camp began.

"The fact you think there has been more than one should tell everyone what kind of reporting this is [fake news]," Skipper said .

To his credit, Pouncy owned up to his mistake and apologized, which Skipper quickly accepted to put the issue behind them. You can check out the exchange below.

Both Skipper and Barnes addressed their fight after practice, with both saying it's water under the bridge.

“I told everybody yesterday that this year is personal for me so I ain’t with all the BS," Barnes said, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard . "But at the end of the day it is all love, it’s still my teammates and we’re gonna pick each other up. That’s how it is, but it’s football. That’s how it gets out here.”

"At the end of the day, you've got a bunch of type-A individuals and life comes at you fast," Skipper said. "Everyone's hot, everyone's tired... things spill over sometimes ... love the guy."

The Lions will get a day to cool off on Sunday, as the team won't practice. Detroit will return to the practice field on Monday.
