Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown Brutally Rips Falcons Fans

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown despises Green Bay Packers fans. That’s a given because of the rivalry. But he thinks Atlanta Falcons fans may actually be the worst in the NFL.

Not because Falcons are particularly antagonistic or provocative, but because they don’t fill the stadium.

During an appearance on First We Feast’s “Hot One Versus” with Davante Adams, St. Brown explained why he isn’t exactly fond of the Atlanta faithful.

“I think some of the worst fans are the Falcons,” St. Brown said . “When we played them during my rookie year, no one was there.”

Atlanta sports fans in general have a reputation for being apathetic toward their franchises, although the Braves are actually fifth in baseball in attendance this season. The Hawks, on the other hand, ranked toward the bottom of the NBA in that category.

Then remember the Thrashers, Atlanta’s NHL team? They disbanded because of low attendance figures.

Perhaps the Falcons will draw more fans to their stadium this year after the addition of Kirk Cousins. Atlanta has a great chance of winning the NFC South and making it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2017, so the Falcons should be able to generate some buzz.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is looking to replicate his 2023 success

St. Brown was thoroughly dominant for the Lions last season, hauling in 119 receptions for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to his second straight Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

That was enough for St. Brown to earn a massive contract extension with Detroit.

It will certainly be difficult for St. Brown to match his 2023 numbers this year (or ever again), but there is no question that he has formed a lethal tandem with Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

St. Brown, who played his collegiate football at USC, was selected by Detroit in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He played in every game during his rookie campaign and was impressive, catching 90 passes for 912 yards and five scores. Then, the following season, St. Brown showed some nice progress, snaring 106 balls for 1,161 yards while reaching the end zone six times.

That set up his breakout year with the Lions in 2023.

Detroit made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game this past year, where it ultimately lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

We’ll see if Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Lions can make a push for the Super Bowl come September.
