BCWSA removes PFAS from drinking water with first-of-its-kind technology
The Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority announced that it has successfully utilized innovative treatment technology to remove PFAS, known as forever chemicals, from its drinking water. The new treatment system was recently piloted at two water supply locations that had slightly elevated PFAS levels above the PA Department of Environmental Protection’s regulation.
‘Largest addiction rehabilitation center in the Northeast’ to come to University City
Real estate investment group Creating Shared Communities will build a 517,000-square-foot addiction rehabilitation center at 3700 Ludlow St., blocks away from Penn’s campus. An inmate was killed by his cellmate at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, as confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Police on Tuesday night. The deceased, 57-year-old Kevin Beattie from Philadelphia, who had also been known as Kevin Williams and Bernard Grover, was found unresponsive in his cell on July 2, 2024.
