On June 1, 24 8th grade students from around DeWitt county set out for Washington, DC. During their 7-day visit, students will tour famous locations like Mt. Vernon and Monticello, the homes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson respectively. They will visit memorials and monuments throughout DC, climb to the top of the Washington Monument, and view the original Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Students will witness the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and visit the resting places of presidents within Arlington National Cemetery. In an action packed week students will also find time to visit the Smithsonian museums of American History, African-American History, Natural History, Air and Space, and the Holocaust museum.

We hope that you will consider joining us for the 2025 trip which is open to any DeWitt County student that will be an 8th grader during the 2024-2025 school year. More info can be found at: https://worldstrides. com/custom/2025-dewitt- county-dc-216492/
