New Hampton Swimming Pool Forced to Close For Rest of Season
The New Hampton Swimming Pool has been forced to shut down early for the remainder of the season. A New Hampton Swimming Pool Facebook post says the facility had to be closed effective immediately after a pair of glass pool goggles shattered in the pool on Monday (08.120. The notice added, “Because of the glass, we must follow protocol and drain the pool. Unfortunately, it takes a few days to be able to safely drain the pool, clean it, refill, and apply start up chemicals. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a small area of Eurasian watermilfoil was originally found during fall 2023 east of the McIntosh Beach.
