Father arrested for the death of 4-year-old child in DeWitt

DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The father of 4-year-old Rykelan Brown from DeWitt was arrested for the death of his child on Tuesday, July 30, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Joshua Emmons is charged with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child after his son his died on May 29.

Rykelan was taken to the hospital on May 26. The initial 911 call stated the child had fallen, said the sheriff’s office.

Emmons is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
