Crime Stoppers: Police investigate credit card fraud after large purchases from 2 businesses
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Detectives with the Bowling Green Police Department are investigating a fraud case and need your help. According to police, the unknown suspect used a victim’s information to open credit card accounts at two businesses. They’re accused of using the card to make fraudulent purchases at both businesses.
The City of Madisonville Hosts First Ever ‘Illuminated’ Hot Air Balloon Show
Fun news from Madisonville, Kentucky. At the end of next month, the city will host, for the first time ever, a hot air balloon show called Madisonville Illuminated. The event is reminiscent of a balloon festival that used to be held at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden in Owensboro. For years, as part of the annual Dazzling Daylily Festival, the Botanical Garden also showcased hot air balloons with Balloons Over the Garden. There were many on display and floating above the property. They even offered tethered rides above the gardens, but also rides that launched from the grounds and flew across parts of Owensboro.
Fireworks and fiddles dominate fun weekend in Leitchfield
Fireworks, fiddles and an abundance of family fun will be offered this weekend on and around the Leitchfield Town Square. A city-sponsored fireworks show highlights Friday’s events, and a concert following Saturday’s Twin Lakes National Fiddler Championship will feature Hall of Fame fiddle player and Grayson Co. native Jimmy Mattingly, mandolinist and Leitchfield native Danny Roberts and the renown Gary “Biscuit” Davis & the Smokey Mt. Biscuit Co.
Helping Hand of Hope launches Thrift Store to give neighbors positive shopping experience
Helping Hand of Hope rolled out a new way of helping neighbors in need this week as they launched their new Thrift Store. “The Thrift Store is actually an addition to Helping Hand of Hope that we have created in one of the extra areas that we have here,” said Helping Hand of Hope Executive Director Hope Burke. “We really wanted something for when our neighbors come in that really need an extra hand when it comes to clothing or accessories for their home that they were able to come in and actually afford the things that they were coming to get.”

Hopkinsville Police arrested 21-year-old Alejandro Daniel of Hopkinsville for reportedly stalking an individual on Monday. According to a police report, officers were dispatched to a prowler call at a Hopkinsville residence. The victim shared that Daniel had reportedly knocked on their door, called them multiple times from different phone numbers and previously followed them around town.
Popular restaurant chain to open 92 locations in Walmart stores
Mr Gatti’s Pizza, a Texas-based pizza restaurant chain, is partnering with Walmart to open 92 store locations across four states. The partnership will bring Mr Gatti’s Pizza to Walmart locations in Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Kentucky skyscraper repossessed after owners defaults on $28 million loan
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKRC) - A Kentucky skyscraper was repossessed after the owners defaulted on a $28 million loan. According to WHAS-TV, the 26-story Meidinger Tower in Louisville, Kentucky was repossessed after the Wilmington Trust National Association filed a June lawsuit in Jefferson County Circuit Court. The lender's lawsuit accused the owners of the skyscraper of failing to make a monthly payment of $142,204.82 last November, also alleging that the owners have had failed to make a payment in any subsequent month, per the station.
