2 Republicans squaring off in Washtenaw County Board District 3 primary
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI -- A pair of Republicans are squaring off in the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners District 3 primary election. Ryan Baumgart and Sean Egmon are on the Aug. 6 ballot. The winner will meet Democratic incumbent Shannon Beeman in the November general election. Beeman, who has served as the District 3 commissioner since 2019, is running unopposed in the primary.

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A woman found in rural Washtenaw County may have been an escort and using cocaine with the man charged in her death, according to a defense attorney. Fareed Hajjar, 57, appeared Thursday, July 25, before 14A-1 District Court Judge J. Cedric Simpson for a decision on a motion, made by the defense lawyer last week, to lower his bond from $2 million. Simpson denied the motion.
