University Of Michigan Team Preparing Electric-Powered 22-Foot Liberator For Shootout Competition And More
Based out of the highly regarded Wilson Center smack dab in the middle of one of the country’s most premier universities, a considerable amount of engineering students has been working on a unique project that is sure to get a lot of attention from the performance boat community—and beyond thanks to its University of Michigan affiliation. Might it get similar attention to the NCAA’s all-time winningest football team that plays at The Big House in Ann Arbor? Unlikely, but thanks to that program and the extensive alumni network from the esteemed university, the boat being prepared by the University of Michigan Electric Boat project team to compete at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri August 24-25 is sure to have a lot of fans cheering it on.

Construction Underway on 640-Bed Student Housing Development Near University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, Mich. — Construction is underway on a 640-bed student housing development by a partnership between Core Spaces and TPG Angelo Gordon in Ann Arbor. Located along E. William Street, the development site is located two blocks from the University of Michigan campus and the city’s main downtown retail corridor. The community will offer studio through six-bedroom units, with townhome units on the ground floor and VIP units on the top floor. Shared amenities will include a resort-style rooftop swimming pool, courtyard with grilling stations, spa, fitness center and social and study areas. PC Treehouse is serving as general contractor for the project and architectural efforts are being led by Dwell Design Studio. Construction began in January with completion planned for May 2026. Parini Design will provide interior design services in collaboration with Core’s in-house team. “Ann Arbor is one of the top college markets in the country, and as the University of Michigan’s enrollment has continued to grow year-over-year, we’re thrilled to have identified this prime location near campus to bring our next-level living experience to students,” says Brendan Miller, chief investment officer of student housing at Core Spaces.
