    New Hope Valley Railway

    The North Carolina Railway Museum (NCRM) is in charge of the New Hope Valley Railway, a volunteer-run railroad that provides a fun experience for visitors of all ages.

    Families, rail lovers, and visitors can spend precious time riding actual trains, learning about railroad history, and appreciating the G Scale model garden railway.

    Visitors can tour the open-air NCRM and its gift store, and watch the variety of equipment in the rail yard. It's a day of learning and fun for everyone.

    The NCRM proudly manages the New Hope Valley Railway, the "Triangle's Train." This ancient train takes passengers on an hour-long circular ride through lovely piney woods, passing a charming trestle from Bonsal to New Hill and back. On certain bike days, we sell delectable food and beverages.

    Operated by the North Carolina Railway Museum, the railway showcases vintage locomotives and rolling stock, providing an immersive experience in the history of rail transportation.

    It's a beloved destination for families, rail enthusiasts, and those seeking a nostalgic adventure in the heart of North Carolina.

    The trains normally run on one Saturday and one Sunday per month, with multiple departure times, throughout the entire ride season, which runs from the spring to the end of the year.

    Additionally, they offer 10:30 a.m. rides twice a month on Wednesdays and Fridays.

    During the festive months of October and December, don't miss the special Halloween and Santa trains.

    Visitors need to keep in mind that we are only operating on specified riding days and do not currently offer Steam Locomotive rides.
