The Barnstable County Fair Returns For 2024!

The Barnstable County Fair, a beloved annual event in the community, is set to return for another year of fun, excitement, and entertainment. From July 22nd to July 28th, residents and visitors alike can enjoy thrilling rides, exciting entertainment, delicious food, adorable animals, agriculture, and the “world’s largest Demolition Derby converge” for seven days in July.

Named the "Best Local Event of 2022" by the Cape Cod Times, the Barnstable County Fair offers an incomparable lineup of entertainers, classic fair food (fried dough is my personal favorite!), plus a variety of exciting rides. The Cape Cod Fairgrounds website explains that visitors can expect "county fair hallmarks like 4H demos, petting zoos, livestock, and an impressive display of vegetables, crafts and Americana. This is Cape Cod’s marquee summer event!"

The Barnstable County Fair is hosted on the Cape Cod Fairgrounds, which is home to almost 100 acres of open grounds, show rings, barns, a stage, and tons of indoor function space. According to the Cape Cod Fairgrounds website, despite common misconceptions, the fairgrounds are not a municipal property- instead, the Barnstable Agriculture Society, a privately owned and operated 501c3 non-profit organization, runs the grounds.
