Exciting news for dog lovers in Massachusetts! Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue has announced that it will be moving to Pembroke and expanding its services to include a dog daycare. This nonprofit organization, known for its dedication to rescuing and re-homing dogs, will soon offer grooming and boarding services as part of its new venture.

The announcement, made on August 20th, details the plans for the new facility located at 275 Oak Street in Pembroke, which is the former South Paws Doggie Daycare location. The team aims to open the daycare to the public by September 16, 2024, with grooming services starting on October 1, 2024. The organization assures that they have a highly experienced team ready to manage the new operations efficiently.

While the daycare will function separately from the rescue in terms of financial operations, it will play a crucial role in supporting the rescue financially. "In regard to donations, both of these businesses have their own EIN. Donations will still be strictly to the rescue. The daycare is NOT a 501c3. Funds from the daycare will help support the rescue/shelter," explains Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue.

In the meantime, Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue is seeking temporary placements for two dogs, Chevy and Simba, who need homes by August 28th. The rescue shared a bit about them, explaining that both dogs will need a foster home for a three-week hold, stating:

Chevy - Lab/Pit Mix - 4 Years old - Adult-only home, no other dogs. Chevy does fine as long as she is without bones or toys. She resource guards high-value items. Otherwise, she is fantastic.

Simba - Mastiff Mix - 2 Years old - Adult-only home, no other dogs. Separation anxiety which is being addressed with our veterinarian. Would be great for someone who likes to exercise.

For those interested in supporting their mission or fostering Chevy or Simba, inquiries can be directed to their email at adoptions@buddyandfriendsma.org.
