One Person Killed, Three Others Injured in Palo Alto County Accident
(Palo Alto Co.) One person died and three others were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Palo Alto County Friday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says 32-year-old Desiree Angela Sternhagen, of Janesville, Minnesota, was driving a 2013 Kia southbound on 480th Avenue and failed to stop and yield at the intersection with 370th Street. 34-year-old Mathia Kay Nieves, of Emmetsburg, was driving a 2018 Mitsubishi westbound on 370th Street and was struck in the passenger side by the Kia.
Emmetsburg Man Dies in Collision
Emmetsburg, IA (KICD) – An Emmetsburg man died in a two vehicle accident East of town on highway 18 Friday afternoon. 67 year old Ernest Manwarren was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck when 32 year old Desiree Sternhagen from Janesville, Minnesota failed to stop at a stop sign.
Two Arrested in Spencer on Multiple Charges
Two Spencer residents were arrested earlier this week on several charges, many of them drug-related. According to Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton, at approximately 3pm on Monday, the department executed a search warrant at 810 East 11th Street. Following the search, 63-year-old Earl Halbur was charged with 3rd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance THC Wax, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Person Ineligible to Carry Weapons, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
'They took his life': Omaha man blames scammers for father's suicide
OMAHA, Neb. — Austin Thompson's dad always called. "He'd just call to hear my voice," Austin said. Austin lives in Omaha, while his dad, Monte, lives in Graettinger, Iowa. "He's like, 'I don't want to bug you,'" Austin said. "And I'm like, 'Dad, you're not bugging me. I like when you call.'"
2 people from Iowa appear in court on drug charges
