Shelter announced a four-date run of headlining dates for September on their Instagram. Yes, I can see the gears turning in your head going “I know the name Shelter, but I can’t remember from where.” Well, to remind you, Shelter is the Hare Krishna-based band from Youth of Today vocalist Ray Cappo that he started in the early ‘90s. 26-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Northeast DC, Metropolitan Police Offer $25k Reward for Information
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that shook the Northeast community this past Thursday. The incident, which occurred in the afternoon on Bryant Street, left 26-year-old Hassan Kamara Jr. of Takoma Park, MD, dead from gunshot wounds. According to official reports, police responded around 3:30 p.m. to calls regarding the shooting and discovered Kamara Jr. critically injured.
International Soccer Star Visits Local Students
Students at MCPS’ Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Takoma Park got the chance to spend a summer afternoon with professional soccer star Luis Palma. Palma is a Honduran footballer who plays as a winger on the Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Honduras national team. He has also played professionally in leagues in Honduras, the United Stated, and Greece. Palma became the second Honduran player to ever score in the Champions League when he scored for Celtic against Atletico Madrid in 2023.
