Platteville woman seriously injured after t-bone crash with semi

DICKEYVILLE, Wis. -- A Platteville woman was seriously injured Thursday afternoon after her vehicle was t-boned by a semi north of Dickeyville, Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman said.

The crash was reported at around 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 151 and Hill Climb Road in the Paris Township. An investigation reportedly found that a 77-year-old Platteville woman drove from Hill Climb Road onto Highway 151 directly in front of a southbound semi being pulled by a 58-year-old Fort Atkinson man. The man braked and swerved but couldn't avoid hitting the woman's vehicle.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Southwest Health Center in Platteville before being transferred to a Madison hospital with serious injuries. The man was not injured.

Both the semi and the woman's car stopped in the median. The semi sustained moderate damage while the woman's vehicle was severely damaged. Both were towed from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
