No-wake rule stays in place as lake levels keep rising in Okoboji
With water levels continuing to rise, Dickinson County leaders decided Friday to keep in place a rule limiting boat speeds on all county lakes to 5 miles per hour or less. The Dickinson County Emergency Management Commission enacted the so-called "no wake" rule in an emergency meeting Monday in the wake of heavy rains. After reassessing the conditions, the commission moved to continue the lower speeds until lake levels subside.
