Okoboji lakes remain at near record levels; water activities still curtailed as July 4 nears
OKOBOJI, Iowa — West and East Lake Okoboji remained at near record levels Wednesday as the high water continued to dampen activities at the popular summertime destination. West Lake, which connects to the smaller East Lake, stood at 8.07 feet at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, just below the record of 8.7 feet set in 1993, according to a U.S. Geological Survey monitoring station at Milford.
