Big Sticks’ Tyler Conklin finds success in Northwoods League

DICKINSON N.D.– Conklin has a 2.01 ERA on the season and 41.2 innings pitched, both those numbers come in at the top of the Northwoods Leagues. Despite the gaudy numbers from Conklin this season, he tries not to pay attention to his numbers, and how they compare to the rest of the league.

“You know it’s great, just coming out here and just pitching to my strengths, really, and it’s paid off. It’s a different scenery for me being from Illinois, but it’s been great out in North Dakota,” Conklin said. “I try not to look at stats, because I feel like sometimes I think about it a little bit on the mound. I’ve had teammates of mine on the Sticks here, and even teammates from school that are playing in the Northwoods, that have mentioned that to me, and I’m like, ‘well I don’t even look’ but I guess that’s kind of cool.
