DICKINSON N.D.– The summer collegiate baseball season gives a lot of guys an opportunity to hone their craft and show off their skills over the summer, but players come from all over the country, and from all different levels of collegiate baseball to compete in these leagues. So, it’s rare to see two guys on the same summer collegiate league have a relationship from spring baseball. But the Big Sticks have that in Brant Kragel and Sean Farney. Both guys competed together at Pima Community College before playing for the Big Sticks, and having that relationship helped both of them get accustomed to their new team.

“I mean, it’s awesome I mean, you have your boys in spring ball and those are your brothers,” Kragel said. “I mean, being able to play with one of them for a bit of extended period of time, it’s it’s awesome. I mean, Sean’s a great guy and I’m I’m really excited that I could play with him for another summer.”

“Yeah, Brant’s always been a great help to me pitching wise and keeping me mentally in check the whole time,” Farney said. “Oh, yeah, definitely. The first few days I got here, just getting acclimated to everybody. He was a real big help introducing me to guys.”

Now both guys will be moving on from Pima to continue their baseball journey at a different school, and Farney and Kragel both only had good things to say about the school that started their collegiate baseball journey

“My time at Pima was great. You know, ever since the day I got recruited to go there and coach hock was a great help and coach Gayle too my first year the pitching coach,” Farney said. “And shout out Ms. Becky, the best trainer there is.”

“Probably the best two years of my life so far. I mean, we got to play a lot of baseball. We played really good baseball,” Kragel said. “I mean, the guys there and the relationships I built over the past two years there have been amazing. I couldn’t be more grateful for my time at Pima these past two years.”
