A Grand Forks Council Member Voices Her Concerns of the Planned Children’s Museum
(KNOX) -Approval on a final plan for the Altru Indoor Sports and Aquatics Complex and Children’s Museum in Grand Forks is about two months away. Grand Forks City Administrator Todd Feland said the proposal will include the Children’s Museum even though there is some opposition by members of city council. “We’ll try to get you something well in advance so you have time to review it. We will ask probably late September, that we move forward with a final design on a facility,’’ Feland recently told the Grand Forks Committee of the Whole.

The rivalry between Grand Forks and Fargo was especially fierce in 1906. An agreement had been reached that the State Fair would alternate between Grand Forks and Fargo, with Fargo scheduled to host the fair for the first time. But there was some annoyance that Grand Forks was holding a Red River Valley Exposition just prior to Fargo’s fair.
