    Cutler Botanic Garden hosts a Shakespearean festival: “Much Ado in the Garden”

    TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Join in the magic Sunday, July 21 at Cutler Botanical Gardens for their sixth annual Shakespearean themed English Renaissance festival called, ‘Much Ado in the Garden’.

    There will an afternoon of activities for both kids and adults, including live music and theater performances, as well as face painting, crafts, plus a food truck and an ice cream truck.
    Since last year’s festival, the garden has received thousands of dollars of upgrades, including a new waterfall feature, the interactive labyrinth and a whimsical Mary Poppins display.

    There will be a garden-wide scavenger hunt, Elizabethan-themed Games, live performances by the “Half Light Theater,” the Madrigal Choir of Binghamton as well as a parade.

    “If you want a magical experience for adults and children that transforms you into another place in time, amid beautiful settings come to Much Ado in the Garden. it’s free and it will be fantastic,” Festival Coordinator Eve Berman said.

    The festival will start this Sunday at noon and go until 4 p.m., rain or shine. Berman says a majority of the performances will be held inside for cooler temperatures, and better sound quality.

    The festival is free to attend, but donations are more than welcome.
