Temporary detour in place for I-81 in Lackawanna County

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There will be a temporary detour in Dickson City on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The detour will take place from Main Avenue to Interstate 81 southbound ramp in Dickson City starting at 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday morning.

Detour from Main Avenue to Interstate 81 southbound:

Take Main Avenue to Interstate 81 northbound on the ramp
Follow Interstate 81 northbound towards Exit 191B (Scranton Expressway)
Exit right onto 191B (Scranton Expressway) toward Scranton Carbondale Highway
Stay in the right lane on Scranton Carbondale Highway
Exit right towards Interstate 81 southbound and Route 6 east to gain access to Interstate 81 southbound

When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions.
